Flattr is a thing many of us want to use more. Unfortunately, in most situations it’s just too damn inconvenient. “But it’s just clicking a button in your browser!” some say, but, in reality, we are not living in the browser as much as we did a couple of years ago. We are consuming stuff mobile and that means using apps. Even on the desktop, we are using more native software again, because it provides a better user experience and delivers better performance.
Like any self respecting web service, Flattr has an API, which works well. However, adding Flattr support to your app will probably not bring in any additional sales, so you will ignore it for now. With FlattrKit, you don’t have to, anymore. FlattrKit delivers a simple to use, Objective-C API for accessing the Flattr API on both iOS and the Mac. It makes heavy use of blocks and ARC, so that it is only available on iOS 5 and Mac OS X Lion.
Read the API documentation.
